This week’s blog finds The Zaandam in Hawaii. Today we are in Honolulu tomorrow Kauai. On the 11th we held a Windows 7 Launch Party in our Crow’s Nest which was attended by 96 people! We have obtained a video on how to migrate from Windows XP to Windows 7, which I hope to be posting in the near future. Until then, this weeks most favorite Windows 7 feature is the “snap” (the ability to split the screen into two distinct frames). Great for dragging and dropping photos from Windows Live Photo Gallery to our Blog page. Savor these outstanding panorama photos from Jean and Mike (both of California). Until next time;

As we wrap up our second Hawaii rotation, I want to thank those 80 people who attended our windows 7 launch party. It was great fun and I’m told that our guests learned a lot about the easy and fast new features of Windows 7. One new feature is the Applocker which allows a user to password access to an individual program even after the initial password has been used. A great way to protect your financial data. Special thanks to our guests Joe (From San Bernardino Ca) and Karen (from Chicago Ill) for the great pictures they took while in Hawaii. Until next week.

As we head back across the Pacific to San Diego, the Zaandam and our guests are busy working on those photos and videos taken during our stay in the islands. Here are some of the results. Also, we shared the Windows launch party which was attended by 80 guests! Much was learned and enjoyed but one feature –the XP Mode stands out. Using either the Professional or Ultimate version of Windows 7 you can bring up any program from XP in a window and run it transparently. No more fuss about incompatibility. One of the many things to love about Windows 7. More next time.
